STAND 10 Year Anniversary

Staying True to America’s National Destiny (STAND) celebrated its ten year anniversary last night with an awards dinner in Alexandria.

STAND is led by Bishop E.W. Jackson. According to their mission statement, the organization is designed “to unite Americans as one nation under God for the preservation and defense of our Judeo-Christian heritage and values, Constitution, free market economy, national security and the freedom of every citizen.”

Bishop Jackson said last night that there are a lot of conservative organizations out there, but what separates this one from the rest is that STAND specifically expresses that traditional Judeo-Christian values need to be our guiding light.

The evening was filled with great speeches, wonderful music, and rock-solid conservative themes of strong family units, less government reliance, and more individual liberty.

The awards dinner honored four conservatives for their significant impact in conservative policy formation. The recipients were awarded with the George Washington Award “for taking a STAND.”

The first to receive the award was Virginia Thomas, who leads the organization Crowdsourcers. Next was Star Parker, the founder of CURE, followed by former UN Ambassador Ken Blackwell. The final award recipient, and keynote speaker, was Lt. General Jerry Boykin, a retired Army General who now works as the executive vice president for the Family Research Council. Boykin gave a well-informed presentation on the dangers of communism.

With 200 in attendance last night STAND is looking strong and hoping to grow exponentially in the next ten years. Thank you to Bishop E.W. Jackson for creating this wonderful organization.
