Exxon Mobil Beats Back Another Frivolous Lawsuit

A New York state judge dismissed a lawsuit this week against Exxon Mobil which alleged the energy company misled investors on what some call “climate change.”

The Wall Street Journal editorial board called the dismissal “embarrassing” and said, “the only fraud in this case was the AG’s lawsuit.” Harsh words.

Democrats consistently attack big energy companies. Partisans in government use their office to overreach in their capacity in-order to push an agenda counter to the one that got them elected in the first place. In this case, the attorney general of New York was elected to prosecute crime, not invent wide-reaching interpretations of already broad enough statutes in an effort to attack a global energy company.

“Climate change” is not a harm that can be prosecuted just like shooting a hurricane with a shotgun ain’t helping a thing.

Democrats are nuts with their belief in ManBearPig “climate change.” They want to prosecute everything in the name of “climate justice,” including the rain. Really the rain, remember when the EPA tried to sue Fairfax County for rainfall into Accotink Creek watershed?

2020 Democratic presidential candidates are out in front in their battle against success. Candidates like Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren have a wealth tax or a success tax or whatever they call it. Successful companies that employ thousands and provide families with security and stability are vilified as evil overlords hellbent on destroying the very realm they rule. Absurd.

This week the rule of law stopped government overreach from needlessly harming a successful company operating in the free market. If a Democrat wins the White House next year then expect the free market to take a direct hit and dismissals like this one for Exxon Mobil will likely be few and far between.
