Cages Up, Freedom Down

Today is Lobby Day at Virginia’s Capitol. A day when citizens from across the commonwealth rally in Richmond to let lawmakers hear their voices.

But today is much different than past years; there are cages.

Cages to mark off the 1st Amendment Zone.

The 1st Amendment will be allowed in the 1st Amendment Zone, however the 2nd Amendment is against the law in the 1st Amendment Zone. Please quietly enter the 1st Amendment Zone where you can properly exercise your 1st Amendment rights (just so long as you agree to leave behind your 2nd Amendment rights). Seriously. That’s the way Democrats want it.

It all started with the new Democratic majority in the legislature banning guns in the Pocahontas Building. Then Governor Northam declared a state of emergency to ban guns on Capitol Square. And then the cages were put up. The fortress got its ramparts starting on Thursday afternoon.

That’s where we are today. Disarmed and caged in for Lobby Day. Let freedom ring.

So if you’re in town for Lobby Day, then please be careful, respectful, and patient; there will be long lines everywhere.
