Fake news reporter for fake news network CNN Jim Acosta has lost his “hard pass” to the White House. He lost his pass for failure to handover the microphone when a White House staffer tried repeatedly to take it from him. He pushed the young lady’s arm out of his way and said “pardon me Ms.” This was after he had already ask several questions, which included his own editorial and disagreement with the president, all of which is entirely unusual for a White House press pool reporter.
Acosta’s ridiculous actions are not isolated to just that moment. He has time and again acted like a horse’s ass at the White House. He is not a journalist. He there to push a preconceived narrative of resistance against all things related to President Trump. This is for ratings, it’s not for journalism. Acosta and CNN are tabloids with more money than a typical supermarket checkout line tabloid. Acosta gives real journalists a bad name. The White House press pool should issue a statement condemning Acosta.
Actions have consequences. Expelling Acosta for his unprofessional behavior in no way threatens the 1st Amendment as the press pool and the press conferences will go on without him. If anyone else acted the way Acosta acts at work then they would be fired. It’s about professionalism and journalism. Acosta comes up well short in both.
