Campaign Season Has Started

There are significant elections in Virginia every year and Labor Day weekend serves as the point on the calendar when campaigns really begin to rev up. The summer schedule that so many families can enjoy is now over, nearly ever school is now in session, people are starting to fall back into their normal routine. So it is with that that political campaigns increase their activity in efforts to engage voters with substantive messages. Campaign season is now in full swing.

This year we have what is known as the mid-term elections. For the most part, the ballot is dominated by federal campaigns. Voters will go to the polls in every precinct to cast their vote for US Senate and their House of Representatives member. Some precincts have other elections such as the Special Election for House of Delegates District 8.

The two most important and most competitive races in Virginia are in the 5th and 7th congressional districts, so we are pooling our resources to focus on these two races.

In the 5th we like small business owner and Air Force veteran Denver Riggleman. We know him personally so we know for sure that he is a great guy, a Constitutional conservative, and a highly qualified candidate for office. More on Riggleman’s campaign linked here, and you can donate to the campaign through this link.

In the 7th we like Rep. Dave Brat for re-election. He is an economic policy wonk with a proven voting record of standing for conservative principles. Conservative Review gives Brat a Liberty Score of 97%. Heritage Action gives Brat a lifetime score of 96%. More on Brat’s campaign linked here, and you can donate to the campaign through this link.

Both campaigns have plenty of opportunities to volunteer. Contact them directly for information on how you can help.

Stay involved, stay engaged, and don’t give up. We need all hands on deck. Onward to November.
