VA05 Matches Local Business Owner v. Washington Elite

In Virginia’s 5th Congressional District race the contrast between opponents is stark. The Republican nominee, Denver Riggleman, is an Air Force veteran and local small business owner. The Democrat nominee, Leslie Cockburn, is a retired TV producer who lives in Georgetown and pretends to be a farmer in Rappahannock County on the weekends. Riggleman respects our nation’s law enforcement officers. Cockburn called ICE “our new Gestapo.” Riggleman dines with his neighbors in Nelson County. Cockburn has dined with rock star Mick Jagger and Saddam Hussein’s kids. Riggleman is for limited government. Cockburn is for more government. Riggleman is a normal guy. Cockburn is, according to her own description, “elite.”

Some of these contrasts are highlighted in Riggleman’s new ad-
