The Ills Of The Participation Trophy

Two-time presidential loser Hillary Clinton has been on a worldwide sore loser tour. On Saturday she said she still isn’t over her 2016 loss to Donald Trump. She claims that our country is currently experiencing “a full-fledged crisis in our democracy.” Unfortunately, she may be right, but not for the reasons she claims.

Clinton and her Democrat friends believe the crisis is that Trump did not justly win the 2016 election, which is false. Trump won, fair and square. But the problem that very well could turn into “a full-fledged crisis” is that a democratic republic cannot survive if the losing side of an election does not accept defeat and concede to be governed by the legitimate winner. Clinton, and too many Democrats, will not accept the outcome of the 2016 election. That is a problem, a problem that could boil over into “a full-fledged crisis.”

This could all be the product of the participation trophy. You see, kids are no longer being taught about losing. Today, everyone makes the team, which is recently seen in a High School cheerleader squad that now must accept every girl who tries out after a parent complained that her daughter didn’t make the team. So if everyone makes the team, and if everyone is a winner all the time, then what happens later in life? Not everyone who applies for a job gets the job. Not everyone who asks out the same girl gets a date. Not everyone who plays the game wins.

Kids need to learn rejection and loss, so they can learn that it is not the end of the world.

Our republic cannot survive if we are so divided. Remember the line, “a house divided against itself cannot stand.” Well, we all know what happened then.

Democrats engaged in violent acts on Election Day in 2016. Their Golden Calf is still not over her loss. Investigations and CNN have produced nothing but white hot rhetoric. Rep. Adam Schiff relishes the attention while further dividing us through his official position in congress.

We are divided because Democrats won’t accept that they lost. It’s up to Democrats to change their course, accept defeat, rally their team for the next election while accepting who our chief executive is, and stay with our republic. We are in this together. Let’s pray that another civil war is not on our horizon.
