Rep. Brat’s Closing Argument: It’s The Economy

Unemployment is down. Wages are up. Taxes are lower. Consumer confidence is higher. The economy is doing well under Republican leadership. Let’s keep it that way by electing Republicans on Tuesday.

In Virginia, the 7th Congressional District is in a close race. The contrast between candidates is stark. Republicans have Representative Dave Brat, a former economics professor. Democrats have Abigail Spanberger, a former CIA operative. Brat knows economic policies well, Spanberger does not. Brat will keep the tax cuts that have helped so many middle-class Americans while Spanberger argues for repealing the tax cuts, which would increase taxes right away.

From a Brat campaign email-

“The media is making this race about red and blue waves, but the real story is how an economics professor went to Washington to work with the majority to rebuild the American economy.”

Democrats have tried everything they can to mislead the country on the GOP Tax Cuts. First they said it was “crumbs” and that it wouldn’t help the economy. But those “crumbs” are real savings that middle-class Americans are seeing through higher take home pay from lower payroll taxes. Next, Democrats said job numbers wouldn’t improve, but unemployment is at a 50 year low. Then Democrats said the economy is flat, but GDP increased 4.1% in the second quarter of this year. So then Democrats tried to claim that salaries were not being raised by the billionaires, but now we see “wages and salaries were up 3.1 percent in the third quarter, the Labor Department reported this week.” More on that from The Washington Examiner.

Ouch. Every message Democrats tried to use against the GOP Tax Cuts has been debunked. And Spanberger was one of those Democrats trying to make those false claims while Brat has been advocating for sound economic policies since his first run for congress.

Vote on Tuesday to re-elect Rep. Dave Brat. He’s doing a fine job representing the interests of everyday Americans. He deserves to keep his job.
