Quick Civics Lesson For Rep-Elect Ocasio-Cortez

Representative-Elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is like the Jelly of the Month Club it that she is the gift that keeps on giving. Her latest silliness is this-

“… take back all three chambers of congress, rather all three chambers of government; the presidency, the Senate, and the House…”

Hmmmm. Where to begin?

First off, she means branches, not “chambers.” Second, the three branches of government are the executive branch (the presidency), the legislative branch (congress, which includes both, and now we use the word “chambers,” which are the Senate and the House), and the judicial branch (the courts).

The worst part of her gaffe is that she corrects herself incorrectly. She didn’t mean to say to “three chambers of congress,” but she apparently did mean to say, “three chambers of government; the presidency, the Senate, and the House.” Ouch. That’s really embarrassing.

This concludes today’s quick civics lesson. Thank you for reading. And please, Rep-elect Ocasio-Cortez needs to keep talking. The more live interviews, the better. Please. She can only hurt socialists by exposing how misinformed any and all self-described socialists in America really are. Thank you for playing, please keep her talking.
