Less Than 10% Ain’t A “Shutdown”

Go ahead, shutdown the federal government.

Right now there is a stalemate between congress and the president over the funding for a border wall. The president wants the funds to build a wall, while congress is dragging their feet. The president sites National Security as the reason for the wall, congress offers little explanation as to why they won’t fund it. And, of course, the consequences of this not getting done are being blown up by the liberal mainstream media who would rather attempt to create chaos than report the truth.

Representative Thomas Massie breaks down the potential “shutdown-“

Just 8%. That’s it. Now how on Earth could that be called a “shutdown?”

Any continuing resolution (CR) that is passed is an embarrassment for congress. Pass a budget instead! But another CR is the only thing being addressed. Whatever the congress passes should not be signed by the president for two reasons- 1. It will expose the lies of the liberal mainstream media who are trying to tell us that the sky is falling without another CR, and 2. not signing a CR that does not include funding for a wall will strengthen the president’s calls for tighter security at the border. Whether or not a wall eventually gets built or not, the president standing his ground on this issue will help National Security.

Wall or no wall, I say shut it down. Let 8% of the government close and let Democrats try to spin it as something awful. Of course, power will change hands in the House this coming January so PASSING A BUDGET RIGHT NOW would be the ideal situation. But Speaker Paul Ryan and Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy have proven to be worthless leaders. Thanks a lot.
