Rep. Dave Brat’s opponent believes in a single-payer option government-run healthcare. Such a plan would be too expensive for tax payers. The federal government should not pick the winners and losers in healthcare. A competitive free market is the only way to keep healthcare costs down. Whether a one size fits all approach from the feds costs $32 trillion or just $20 trillion or whatever, the government will be able to hike prices as needed without any recourse from tax payers. We can’t afford this.
